Our Philosophy

Wiseworld advocates a holistic view of sustainability that is seeking:

  • Environmental integrity
  • Wellbeing and Quality of Life for all
  • Safe, vibrant, diverse communities
  • Social and global justice
  • Sustainable product design
  • Strong, ethical economies that enable the above

Our work begins with engaging all people in the creation of a compelling sustainability vision that is relevant to the scope of the organisation.

A framework is then established for dialogue and action planning to consider how we move towards this vision in all domains of your work.

Principles of Sustainability

Wiseworld works with the following thinking:

Interconnectedness. Everything is radically interconnected. All actions have consequences across multiple domains. Solutions cannot be considered in isolation.

Biomimicry. We can design using the operating principles of nature - no waste, self-organisation, diversity.

Collaboration. The best solutions derive from the synergies of shared participation, visioning and learning.

Creative Capacity. We already have the wisdom for sustainability and this is able to be untapped.

Thoughts matter. Our thinking, beliefs and the focus of our attention creates our sense of meaning and our reality.

The flow of learning

Our work follows the following steps:

1 Understanding the situation – What are the facts relating to environmental, social and economic wellbeing? What are the emerging local and global trends driving positive solutions.

2 Generating inspiration and passion. Identifying issues and opportunities.

3 Clarifying a new Story - What would a sustainable future look and feel like in this organisation? What are the guiding values and principles?

4 Developing practical action plans for your context:

PRODUCT – What new technologies, products and services could we employ?

PLACE – How do we create workplace, community and home environments that support sustainable behaviour?

PEOPLE – Which behaviours, thinking and processes encourage sustainability?
